Mango leaf tea Recipe and Benefits

Mango leaves tea is proven anti-diabetic, anti fungal, anti-bacterial. This is very good to treat various health problems.

Mango (Mangifera Indica) is medicinal tree native to India. The juicy mango fruits are available in summers. But leaves of this evergreen tree is available throughout the year and are useful in treating various ailments. Mango leaves has many medicinal properties like anti-inflammatory, anti-diabetic, antihyperglycemic, antiviral, antibacterial and anti-ulcer activities.

Recipe of Mango leaves tea

Ingredients
Bright green mango leaves (5) Water (400 ml), honey as per taste

Process for making mango leaf tea

  • Take green mango leaves and wash thoroughly with plain water.
  • Crush leaves and add in boiling water.
  • Cook till volume reduces to half.
  • Remove from flame and filter.
  • Add honey and drink. Avoid honey, if you are diabetic.
  • You can also drink filtered decoction as tea after adding milk and sugar.

Health benefits of drinking Mango leaf tea

  • Anti-diabetic effect
  • Useful in treating loss of voice or aphonia
  • Useful in treating Oral Thrush or mouth blisters (an infection of the mouth caused by the candida fungus or yeast)
  • Helpful in the treatment of diarrhea
  • Gives strength, energy and treats tiredness

You can drink this tea 2-3 times a day for one week.

  2. You can dry the mango green leaves without exposing to sunlight and make powder then make tea and take twise a day before meal. Because direct sunlight reduces it’s medicine value
