High blood pressure complications in pregnancy

High blood pressure can cause serious health complications during pregnancy. It can heart pregnant and baby both. It can lead to premature delivery, low baby weight and still birth.

Many women with pre-existing high blood pressure are on higher risk of serious problems than who develop high blood pressure during pregnancy.

High blood pressure developed during pregnancy is know as gestational hypertension. Gestational hypertension can occur at any point of time during pregnancy and it go away it self after some time of delivery. In some pregnancies it gestational hypertension can occurs in last weeks.

Risk of High blood pressure during pregnancy

High blood pressure effect range from mild to severe. High blood pressure can harm the mother’s kidneys, heart and other organs. Hypertension in mother can cause low birth weight and preterm or premature delivery.

The most serious problem developed by hypertension is know preeclampsia which can threaten the lives of both the mother and the fetus. Preeclampsia affects the placenta, and it can affect the mother’s kidney, the liver, and brain. Preeclampsia is major cause of fetal complications like low birth weight, premature birth, and stillbirth.

High blood pressure in pregnancy is very serious thing which can be monitored and managed under strict supervision of a doctor. So do regular check-up of  high blood pressure and follow your doctor instructions.
