Patanjali Divya Udarkalpa Powder formulation is developed by Swami Ramdev’s Patanjali Divya Pharmacy. It is not a classical Ayurvedic medicine but a proprietary medicine.

Udar means abdomen, and this medicinal powder is for common digestive problems like indigestion, abdominal pain, gas, constipation, etc.

It has laxative action that helps to manage constipation, and constipation related problems such as heaviness, bloating, flatulence, etc. It works in case of constipation due to purgative, and laxative action of Senna, and Haritaki. Dry ginger, and fennel seeds are well-known for improving digestion, and giving relief in abdominal gas.

It is UNSAFE to use this medicine in pregnancy as it contains hot potency medicinal herbs, and Senna leaves. You should also avoid its daily use as Senna is habit forming laxative. Presence of Mulethi makes it is unsuitable for hypertension, and long-term use.

It can be taken for a few days or few weeks till symptoms of gas, constipation are corrected.

Patanjali Udarkalp Powder Warnings, and Contraindications

In the case of hypertension, you need to take it carefully or avoid its use. It contains licorice, and excessive intake of licorice induces a syndrome of hypokalemia, and hypertension that due to increased activation of renal mineralocorticoid receptors by cortisol.
