Types of Headache
Tension headache: This type of headache is caused by muscle tension in the shoulders, neck, and head. This kind of tension is usually seen as a result of Fatigue, Uncomfortable body position, and Emotional stress.
The characteristic symptom of this headache is that it begins in the morning or early afternoon and can get worse during the day.

R16 Reckeweg Migraine Formula Composition
Active Ingredients (in 10 g)
Cimicifuga racemosa 4X, Gelsemium sempervirens 3X, Iris versicolor 2X, Sanguinaria canadensis 3X, Spigelia anthelmia 4X, 1g each.
Inactive ingredients: 37 vol.-% alcohol, distilled water.

Cimicifuga racemosa: This remedy is useful when a patient has shooting and throbbing pains in the head. The pain is seen soon after mental worry, by overstudy, by disease of the uterus. This remedy is given when a patient has a wild feeling in the brain, with the sensation of opening and shutting in the brain. Pain is so severe that the patient has feelings of pressing outward. It has pain that feels like electric shocks here and there. This remedy lessens the frequency and force of the pulse, soothes pain, and cures irritability. It is a very good remedy for meningitis.
Gelsemium sempervirens: In this pain is felt in half side of the head with dim sight or double vision. It is given when the pain is preceded by great sensitiveness to notice. Pain comes on suddenly with vertigo and great heaviness of the head. Pain is so severe that the patient is in a semi: stupor state. The pain is localized on the backside of the head with the heaviness of the head. The pain extends to the upper cervical region down to the shoulders. This pain is better when the patient sits and bends their head high on the pillow. The pain is worse by mental exertion or the patient does any study. This kind of headache ends with profuse urination. This remedy can be given when the patient is exhausted and feeling weakness from the heat of the sun. He has bad effects of sunstroke. This weakness is also seen in its circulation. It is given in cases where the patient feels the heaviness of the head with a band-like sensation around the head. He feels pain in the back of his head. Pain is so severe that the patient feels the heaviness of the eyelids. This pain is better by compression and lying with the head high. This remedy should be given to patients to feel muscular soreness of the neck and shoulders along with headache.
Iris versicolor: It is a remedy for headache in the forehead with nausea, when a patient has the feeling of constriction. The right side of the headache near the ear is especially affected. The patient has a sick headache which is worse from rest. Pain is felt when the patient is relaxing from a mental strain.
Sanguinaria: It is a remedy that affects the right side. So it can be given for right-sided headache. It is a very good remedy for sun headache. The patient has a periodical sick headache. This remedy is given when pain begins in the back of the head, spreads upwards, and settles over the eyes especially on the right side. Pain is better by lying down and sleep. It is given in periodical headache when headache return after every seventh day. Along with pain patient has to burn in the eyes. It is given when a patient has pain in the back of the head with a feeling like a flash of lightning.
Spigelia: It is a remedy when a patient has a headache in the forehead and near the ears and this pain extends to the eyes. It is given the patient has lefts sided headache involving the left eye. Pain is violent and throbbing and has a sensation of a band around the head. The patient also has vertigo with difficult hearing.

Reckeweg R16 is indicated in Migraine (throbbing pain in the head which is usually on one side of the head associated with nausea and blurred vision), Nervous headaches, Neuralgia of the head (stabbing, burning, and severe pain occurring along the damaged nerve commonly found in neck and face areas), Hemicrania (pain in one side of the head.
Chronic pain in the back of the head, upper neck, and behind the eyes due to occipital nerves), Pain along the nerve of the head, and Continuous headaches due to cold conditions.
Dosage of Reckeweg R16
The recommended dosage of Reckeweg R16 is given below:
- According to the acuteness of the headaches, 3 to 6 times a day 10 to 15 drops of Dr.Reckeweg R 16 in some water.
- Even after improvement, take 10 drops of Dr.Reckeweg R 16 three times daily, for 2 to 3 days.
