Taragarbha Pottali Uses, Ingredients & Dosage

Taragarbha Pottali is a Rasa (Parad) containing or mercurial formulation of Rasashastra of Ayurveda. Parad is mercury which is used only after proper purification which is done by Shodhana, Mardana (grinding), Swedana (vaporising), Prakshalana (performing frequent ablutions), Galana (straining fluids), etc. The processing detoxifies mercury and brings about the physical and chemical changes in the drug, thus enhance their therapeutic efficiency.

Literal meaning of Pottali is a compact roundish collection of scattered materials in place. In Rasa Shastra, Pottali Kalpana is effective mercurial preparation with high potency and compact size. Pottali medicines are easy to use and given in small doses to treat acute and chronic diseases. The main property of these medicine is minimisation of dose but at the same time maximising the effect.

Uses of Taragarbha Pottali

Taragarbha Pottali is indicated in diseases of the urinary systems such as burning urination, frequent urination, painful urination, etc.and also in prameha, Shukra Dosha and various disorders caused due to vitiated Pitta-Dosha.

The Dosage of Taragarbha Pottali

The recommended dosage of Taragarbha Pottali is 62.5 mg in divided doses depending on the condition of patient and disease, preferably with Tulsi leaves juice & honey.
