Kalmegh is a very important medicinal plant of traditional medicine system. It is used in Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani and Homeopathy to treat broad variety of diseases.
Kalmegh is extremely bitter medicinal herb useful in blood purification. In traditional medicine it is used for treating leprosy, gonorrhea, scabies, boils, skin eruptions, etc.due to its blood purification properties. Its decoction prevents and treats the liver diseases and fever.
2) Punarnavadyarishta is very effective in internal abscess, jaundice and piles. It improves the digestive system, reduces inflammation, cures the fluid retention and very useful in managing heart diseases. It is useful in managing the lipids and cholesterol in healthy limits. It has diuretic action which helps to stimulate production of urine and thus helps in curing fluid retention in the body. It has diuretic, alterative and hematinic properties.
Dosage and administration:12-24 ml orally with an equal amount of water after meals twice a day for 1-2 months. Or take as directed by a physician.
3) Arogya vardhini Vati is indicated in all varieties of kustha. It is effective medicine to treat hepatitis, jaundice, the liver disorders, prameha and various skin disorders. It has anti-oxidant and the liver protecting properties. It cures skin diseases, fever (vataj, pittaj, kaphaj, sannipata), given strength to heart, reduces obesity, improves digestion and assimilation of nutrients. Arogya vardhini Vati protects cells from free radical damage and improves health.
Dosage and administration:250 mg twice a day for 1-2 months. To be taken under medical supervision only.
