Ajirna Kantak Ras Uses, Ingredients & Dosage

Ajeerna Kantak Ras is a herbo-mineral formulation or Ras aushadhi of Ayurveda. Rasa aushadi contains mercury as an ingredient. In Ajirna Kantak Ras formulation Hingul is one of the ingredient. Hingula is also known as Shingraf. Its English name is Cinnabar. It is pinkish-red mineral ore of mercury found in mines. It is a compound of mercury and sulfur (red sulphide of mercury). For purification or getting Shuddha Hingula, cinnabar is impregnated and triturated in Jamira swaras/lemon juice for seven days. Each day, mortar containing cinnabar is filled with lemon juice and kept overnight. Next morning trituration is done continuously for eight hours. On seventh day, processed hingula is left in mortar to dry up which is scrapped with a knife and stored.

Hingula is useful in the treatment of diseases that occur due to vitiation of three dosha and for stimulating digestive power. It is a Rasayana of Ayurveda that rejuvenate body.

Uses of Ajirna Kantak Ras

The literal meaning of Ajirna Kantak Ras is one that cures Ajeerna or indigestion (Ras=mercury). Indigestion can be due to excess eating, heavy food intake, low digestive strength, constipation, etc. The use of Ajeerna Kantak Rasa stimulates digestion, cures indigestion, improves appetite, and assimilation.

The Dosage of Ajirna Kantak Ras

The recommended dosage of Ajirna Kantak Ras is 1 tablet twice a day, in morning and evening after the meal with water or lemon juice. Or take as directed by a physician.
