How to diagnose haemorrhagic fever in dengue

Haemorrhagic fever is a general term for a severe illness, sometimes associated with bleeding, that may be caused by a number of viruses including dengue.

Symptoms of dengue fever

Dengue fever can cause two or more symptoms given below

  • Headache
  • Retro-orbital pain (pain behind eye)
  • Myalgia/arthralgia( musicale pain )
  • Rash on skin
  • Haemorhagic manifestation (fever with bleeding)
  • Leucopenia: decrease in the number of white blood cells (leukocytes)

Symptoms of Dengue Haemorhagic Fever (DHF)

Dengue Haemorhagic fever can cause one or more symptoms given below

  • Bleeding from gums
  • Severe fever
