Uses of Cetirizine
Cetirizine has anti-allergic properties and used for allergic rhinitis, seasonal allergy, hay fever (allergy to pollen, dust, or other substances in the air), allergy to other substances (such as dust mites, animal dander, cockroaches, and molds), chronic idiopathic urticaria ( occurrence of daily, or almost daily, wheals and itching for at least 6 weeks, with no obvious reason) and hives.
Cetirizine is also used to treat itching and redness caused by hives. However, cetirizine does not prevent hives or other allergic skin reactions.
Cetirizine is available in the form of tablet, extended release tablet, and liquid. It is usually taken once a day with or without food. It should be taken at the same time every day.
