Pimples usually form quickly and go away again soon afterward.
Mild acne: It includes comedones, blackheads, or whiteheads. These are caused as a result of clogging of pores of the skin. These look dark as blackheads are open and contain a pigment known as melanin. It reacts with oxygen in the air.
Whiteheads are closed. They are white or yellowish in color. It occurs when the oil builds upon the face. It results in the multiplication of bacteria which causes inflammatory acne.
Moderate acne: Those people who have moderate acne have more pimples. Inflamed pimples are called papules or pustules. Papules are small bumps and pustules are filled with yellow pus.
