Patolakaturohinyadi Kashayam is polyherbal Ayurvedic formulation. This medicine is useful in the treatment of diseases of the skin and the liver. The chief ingredient of this medicine is Patola and Katurohini. Katukurohini/Katurohini/Kutki is an Ayurvedic name of medicinal herb Picrorhiza kurroa, a perennial herb found in alpine regions with temperate climatic conditions. It is named as Katuka or Katuki due to its immense bitter taste. It is has rhizomes root and used as a bitter tonic and for the treatment of the liver disorders. It is a cooling, laxative, carminative, digestive, stomachic, cholagogue, hepato-protective, anti-viral, anti-pyretic, immunomodulating, free-radical scavenging, anti-spasmodic and anti-inflammatory.
