Amritadi kwath is a herbal decoction prepared using giloy or amrita (in sanskrit) and other herbs. In ayurveda giloy is termed as hot, bitter, nutritive and Rasayana. Giloy has anti bacterial, anti viral, anti inflammatory, immunomodulatory and hepatoprotective activities. It has the ability to boost immunity, cure diseases and give youthfulness.
Amritadi kwath or giloy stem decoction with other herbs, is used to cure various clinical conditions like
- Digestive problems
- Liver problems
- Blood purification
- Chicken and small pox
- Ulcers and skin problems
- Intestinal parasites
How to prepare amritadi kwath
- Take equal quantities of giloy (Tinospora), motha or nagarmotha (cyperus rotundus), adusa (adhatoda vasica), Khair (acacia catechu) bark, daruhaldi (Berberis aristata) bark, neem leaves (Azadirachta) and turmeric.
- Grind all ingredients to get coarse powder.
- Take this powder (20 gm) in water (200 ml). Make decoction till water reduces to one fourth that is 50 ml.
Filter and drink (50 ml) decoction empty stomach in morning.
Amritadi kwath helps to purify blood, boosts immunity and cures skin problems.
