Aparajita (Clitoria ternatea) is perennial twining climber which common all over the tropical parts of India. This medicinal herb has analgesic, anti-inflammatory and memory improving properties. In Ayurveda it is considered as ‘Medhya drug’ or one that improves mental abilities, intellect and works on nervous system.
In South India Aparajita tree is used as Shankhapushpi. Its use improves learning and memory.
The safe dosage of Clitoria ternatea is root powder (1-3g), seed powder (1-3 g) and leaf powder (2-5 g).

Here are few remedies that can be done at home using Aparajita herb or Clitoriaย to cure various ailments.

Chronic bronchitis
Mix root juice in milk and drink.

Nerving Tonic, Improving memory, brain function
Drink its root juice with honey.

Migraine, chronic head ache
Wash to clean roots of the herb. Then extract its juice by crushing and adding water. Put few drops (4) in each nostril to get relief from headache.

Recurrent fever
Prepare decoction of its root (1-2 teaspoon) and drink twice a day for a few days.

Chronic cough
Take its herbs root, black pepper (2-3), tulsi leaves (7) in a glass of water. Cook till volume reduces to half. Filter and drink for a few days.

Tonsillitis
Boil herbs leaves with guava leases. Use this for gargling.

Abdominal pain, coughing
Prepare powder of its seed. Take this powder twice a day with water.

Hydrocele
Prepare paste of its seeds with water and apply on the affected part in the form of poultice.

Uterus Prolapse, Uterus or Vaginal Infection
Boil leaves of herb with chingeri grass. Add some alum and wash affected area.

Heavy Periods, Frequent Periods, Over Bleeding, Raktapradar
Wash and clean leaves of the herb. Now crush and extract juice in mortar and pestle. Drink this leaves juice with misri and water for a few days.

Sujak, Hydrocele, Gonorrhoea
Boil its leaves in water and use this water to wash affected areas.

Filariasis or Elephantiasis (Elephant Leg)
Preapare a powder by mixing its root and seed powder. Take this powder (1 tbsp) with water.

Compared to flowers the leaves & seeds are more. We should use them. Further once the root is removed then the plant will dry & die Hence use & benefits of seeds to be studied in depth. In general in all the plants, all the parts have medicinal properties, however the efficacy varies. However the seeds germinates, plant grows, yields flower, seeds and cycle continues. Hence we should study the seeds in depth. Tea leaves/ coffee seeds are used- why not we use this plant leaves/ seeds ๐๐ค๐ฟ๐ท๐ฐ
