Oxalis corniculata is a weed found throughout India. In Ayurvedic treatise, it is referred to as Amlalonika and Changeri. It is also known as Amrulsak, Ohuka-tripati (Hindi, Bengali), Ambuti, Bhul-sarpati (Maharashtra), Puli-yarai (Tamil), Pulichintaku (Telugu), Pullam-purachi-sappu (Kannada). It has cooling, refrigerant, and stomachic action. The fresh juice of the plant are given internally to relieve intoxication from Datura, dysentery, and prolapsus of the rectum.

Dried ginger is called Shunthi. It tastes (rasa and Vipaka) and hot in effect (Virya). It gives relief in Vata and Kapha and increases pitta. It is carminative, antiemetic and thermogenic. It is useful in indigestion, low appetite, nausea, and piles

Ajwain, Trachyspermum ammi or carom seeds are commonly used as a spice in cooking. It is known to everybody as a carminative spice. The seeds are hot, dry, and light in nature. They are beneficial in anorexia, indigestion and abdominal gas. Ajwain subdues both Vata and Kapha, improve secretion of digestive enzymes, gives relief in gas and colic and cures problems due to overeating.

Go Ghrita is ghee made from cow’s milk. When it is consumed in medicinal proportion it is beneficial for general mental and physical health. It is Sapta dhatu vardhak and Oj vardhak. It is Buddhi vardhaka (augmenting intelligence), Smriti vardhaka (enhancing memory) and Deepana (improves appetite). It cures internal dryness. Pippali mula is the aromatic root of the plant Piper longum. It is stomachic, digestive, pungent, hot, and very useful for digesting food, bile producing and laxative.

Chitrak reduces vata and kapha and increases pitta. It is stimulant, anthelmintic and antiseptic. It is used in Ayurveda for colitis, indigestion, hemorrhoids, diarrhea, gas and intestinal parasites.

Gaja pippali (Scindapsus officinalis), is Pungent, Sharp and Hot. It alleviates Vata and Kapha and promotes the power of Digestion.

It is appetizer, anthelmintic, aphrodisiac, galactagogue, sharpens the hearing, regulates the bowels, useful in dysentery, asthma, and troubles of the throat.
